Healthier Creamy Chicken Spaghetti Bake Recipe + VIDEO
Ingredients:
- 12 oz whole wheat spaghetti
- 1 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 8 oz. sliced mushrooms (optional)
- 2 cups chopped broccoli florets
- 2 cups low sodium chicken broth
- 1 cup milk (we used 1%)
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (we used 0%)
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
- Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Meanwhile, season the chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the chicken, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the onion and mushrooms to the skillet and saute until they start to soften, about 3-4 minutes. Add the broccoli and saute for an additional 3-4 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the chicken broth, milk, and flour until no lumps remain.
- Add the chicken and cooked spaghetti to the skillet and pour the broth mixture over the top. Bring to a simmer and cook until the sauce has thickened, about 8-10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the Greek yogurt and Parmesan cheese.
- Pour the mixture into a large baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
- Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Meanwhile, in a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked shredded chicken, marinara sauce, chicken broth, red bell pepper, onion, garlic powder, dried basil, and dried oregano.
- Add the cooked spaghetti to the sauce mixture and toss to combine.
- Pour the mixture into a large baking dish and top with the shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
